I've been watching television for a long time. I remember watching it as a child at 4, and I continue to watch it (very selectively) at 50. I have always been fascinated by the basic component of American television, the series. I've become fairly adept at what constitutes good television, what comprises guilty pleasures, and what shows can truly be considered stinkers. And I am amazed that good shows die after a few episodes while bad shows go on forever. Finally, I love to compare the dynamics of television and its series from the early days to the present. This comparison, peppered with brief looks at the history of television in America, will form the basis of this blog. I do hope you enjoy reading it.
