I've posted a new Mystery Theme on MyThemes.TV that most theme-o-philes should be able to correctly guess. By the way, last month's Mystery Themes, the opening to the short-lived continuation of SANFORD & SON entitled SANFORD ARMS, was correctly guessed by only one theme-o-phile, Carter Roane. Congratulations to Carter, and let's see how many correct guesses we get this month...good luck!
Also, I added one seldom-heard theme from the 1980s: the opening titles to the short-lived high school sitcom, MAKING THE GRADE starring James Naughton. Don't confuse this show with the 1979 David Naughton series (loosely based on the movie "Saturday Night Fever") MAKIN' IT. This series ran on CBS for only six episodes in 1982, and it also starred Graham Jarvis, Alley Mills and, in his first regular TV role, George Wendt. Wendt went directly from this series to CHEERS, where he remained for the entire 11-year run of that show. This show, however, was completely retooled and recast by producer Gary David Goldberg and returned as THE BRONX ZOO.
By the way, if any theme-o-philes out there can confirm whether or not Bob James (TAXI) composed the theme to MAKING THE GRADE, I would greatly appreciate it.
I also added the opening theme to another short-lived 1980s sitcom, THE BRADY BRIDES. This dismal "spin-off" of the famously cheesy 1970's sitcom THE BRADY BUNCH had only one thing going for it (historically, anyway): at least it wasn't as bad as another Brady spin-off, 1990's THE BRADYS. Oh well...
It certainly sounds like it's by Mike Post... I've got an idea, but as I never saw the show I think it's from and as I hate to be wrong I'd rather not send a guess in.
